The research-proven approach was developed by Dr. Samual Orton and Anna Gillingham and utilizes phonetics while incorporating visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles.

  • Tracing/Skywriting
  • Penciling
  • Arm-Spelling

  • Six syllable patterns
  • Syllable division rules
  • Spelling rules
  • Phonemic Awareness
  • Affixes
  • Sight Words
  • Homophones

Orton-Gillingham is effective for students of all ages (K-Adult) when taught by educators and parents who have received specialized training in this approach.
